MA in Public Policy and International Relations is a two-year dual degree programme that develops your ability to understand policy and institutional frameworks and the international geo-political contexts in which these are situated. The Dual Degree Programme is offered by two top Institutions known for their excellence in their respective domains.

Dual Degree: Programme Structure

  • The dual degree programme MA in Public Policy and International Relations makes students eligible to earn two Post Graduate Degrees.
  • The first year of the academic programme on Public Policy is offered at School of Public Policy and Governance, TISS Hyderabad.
  • The second year of the MA Degree programme in International Relations is offered at Macquarie University, Sydney.
  • The successful completion of the course curriculum at Macquarie makes the student eligible for a Master’s in International Relations.
  • The credits earned at Macquarie University are transferred to the School of Public Policy and Governance, TISS Hyderabad.
  • Successful completion of two years would lead to a dual MA degree in Public Policy and International Relations.

MA in Public Policy – TISS Hyderabad (Year 1)

MA in Public Policy and Governance is a two-year programme that develops your ability to understand policy frameworks and situate them in the socio-political and economic contexts. It prepares you to

  • Study socio-political eco-system, policy institutions and processes to design policy architecture
  • Evaluate policy impact through micro and big data and qualitative field insights
  • Engage with diverse policy settings and design solutions

From engaging with policy institutions at the global and local levels to acquiring the acumen to design policies, their frameworks, and processes, you will be equipped to evaluate impacts of diverse policy approaches and outcomes.

These together will form the basis for you to make informed policy recommendations that are embedded in principles of equity, justice and sustainability.

Master in International Relations – Macquarie University, Sydney (Year 2)

The Master of International Relations programme focuses on the global system and explores how this system originated and functions today. It is concerned with relations among states, the role of international organisations, and the foreign policies and power relations between particular countries. The programme is built around innovative approaches that allow you to study particular nations or regions of the world and the factors that have shaped their development. It prepares you to:
